AI Observer [part of What Remains]
2025
Interactive installation
Artphy, Groningen NL

The project uses AI as an "observer", detecting when a visitor is watching the installation and altering the visual output in response. Part of an AI-driven visual exploration of Young’s double-slit experiment, the plan is to expand this concept into a large-scale immersive installation that not only visualizes but also physically enacts the experiment's fundamental ideas. The centerpiece of this installation will feature a double-slit apparatus through which projected visuals pass, recreating the phenomenon of interference patterns. The projection itself would consist of dynamically generated video content that responds to the presence or absence of an observer. This interplay between observation and visualization would highlight the central question of quantum physics: how the act of observing shapes reality.

The final iteration of this work will be showcased at Contact in Amsterdam in July 2025 as part of CINE:MACA Residency with the support of Cultuurfonds.
